A man has been arrested following an alleged aggravated robbery a Napier supermarket on Friday afternoon.
Police were called to a commercial property on Munroe Street at 4.10pm, after reports a man had allegedly demanded items at a pharmacy located within the supermarket.
The suspect, a 20-year-old Napier man, was later located at a Breakwater Road address roughly 3km away.
The Armed Offenders Squad was deployed, “as a precaution”, and one person was then taken into custody “without incident” shortly after 7pm, police said.
The man has been charged with aggravated robbery and is scheduled to appear in the Napier District Court on October 17.
