Police are investigating an armed robbery which took place in the Nelson suburb of Stoke on Friday, August 2.
A man allegedly entered the Stoke Convenience store armed with an axe and made off with $2000 worth of cigarettes and tobacco.
Police were called to the incident at 11pm.
Detective Sergeant Leanne Thomson said: “Luckily no one was injured in this incident. However, those working in the store were understandably shaken.”
Police asked anyone who recognised the person or with any information which may assist their investigation to contact them via 105 or anonymously by phoning CrimeStoppers.
