Two companies have issued recalls for batches of chopped peanuts for potentially containing small pieces of metal.
Foodstuffs Own Brands Ltd have recalled two batches of its 3kg Gilmours brand Chopped Peanuts.
The batches recalled were marked as best before 24/04/2025 and 05/06/2026.
The affected product is sold at Gilmours and Trents Wholesale stores throughout New Zealand.
Scalzo Food Industries have recalled a specific batch of FreshLife brand Chopped Peanuts.
The batch recalled has a best before date of 21/05/2026.
The affected product is sold at Woolworths, FreshChoice and Supervalue stores throughout New Zealand.
Both companies imported their chopped peanuts from Brazil.
“Affected product should not be consumed,” the Ministry for Primary Industries said on its website.
“There have been no reports of associated injury, however if you have consumed any of this product and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice.”
The recall does not affect any other FreshLife or Gilmours brand products.
