The road is now clear after a serious crash in Penrose caused delays this morning in Auckland.
Emergency services were called to the incident at about 2.14am.
It involved a truck and a vehicle on Great South Road, near the intersection of Sylvia Park Rd.
“One person was taken to hospital with critical injuries,” police said.
The Serious Crash Unit remained at the scene.
An investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.
Auckland Transport said the section of Great South Road was now open again, but asked motorists to expect delays as the traffic eased.
