A “distinctive” beanie is being sought by detectives as they continue to investigate the fatal stabbing of a Palmerston North man in August last year.
Dayne Rademakers died in hospital after being found with stab wounds at an address on Clyde Cresent in the early hours of August 21.
A homicide investigation was launched shortly after.
Police are now looking for a distinctive beanie that was possibly stolen in the weeks leading up to Rademakers death.
The beanie has a camouflage pattern and features lights built into the front.
“After a number of inquiries, this beanie has become an item of interest to our investigation,” Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Heald said.
Police believe it may have been disregarded around the time of Rademakers death and want to hear from anyone with information.
“We are continuing to work hard to get answers for Mr Rademakers family and provide them with a sense of closure,” Heald said.
Anyone with information is being asked to call 105 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
