A man who was found dead outside his Dunedin home on Monday died from multiple stab wounds, police say.
Detective Senior Sergeant Kallum Croudis revealed today Gurjit Singh, 27, died of multiple stab wounds inflicted by a sharp instrument.
Croudis said “pathological findings” indicated this — a post mortem was carried out yesterday.
Singh had been found dead outside his Hillary St home on Monday morning. Croudis said he died on Sunday.
“Our thoughts go out to his wife and family, as well as his friends and colleagues, at this distressing time,” Croudis said.
“This news will be difficult to process, and police are committed to finding answers of what has happened to Mr Singh and providing closure for his loved ones.”
Croudis said a scene examination is ongoing and investigators are continuing to look into Singh’s movements and interactions prior to his death.
“Police welcome any information about activity in the Liberton and Pine Hill area, especially around 10pm on Sunday, January 28.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police via 105.
