One person has died and another airlifted to hospital in a critical condition following a crash on State Highway 57, southwest of Linton last night.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said officers were called to the crash involving two vehicles on Tennent Drive just after 10pm last night.
“One person died at the scene, while another was airlifted to Wellington Hospital, where they remain,” the spokesperson said.
The road was closed while a scene examination was conducted, and was reopened about 2.25am.
The Serious Crash Unit has attended the scene.
