A person suffered minor burns after a “well-involved” house fire in Bainesse, Manawatū, last night.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) confirmed it had been called about the fire at 9.30pm and initially sent two fire trucks.
“We then had crews from Himatangi Beach, Foxton, Palmerston North VFB, Rongotea, Palmerston North and rural Horowhenua crews,” a spokesperson said.
FENZ confirmed one person was treated by ambulance staff for “minor burns”.
St John Ambulance said it sent one ambulance and one rapid response vehicle.
“One patient was assessed by the crew at the scene and transported to Palmerston North Hospital in a moderate condition,” a spokesperson said.
The fire was contained after roughly an hour.
