Police are investigating the sudden and “unexplained” death of a man in Dunedin this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Hillary St, in Liberton, around 9am.
“Cordons are in place and the public can expect to see an increased police presence while enquiries are undertaken into the circumstances of the incident,” a police spokesperson told 1News in a statement.
“There is not through to be any ongoing safety risk to the public arising from the incident.”
The man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained, police said in an update this afternoon.
Anyone with information, or who saw any unusual activity on Hillary St between January 28 and 29, has been asked to contact police.
