Police have appealed for witnesses to a vehicle collision as part of the investigation into a fatal vehicle fire east of Hamilton earlier this week.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Marshmeadow and Holland roads at around 3.50am on February 19 to reports of a vehicle fire.
“The person was found deceased in the vehicle by firefighters, who notified police,” a police spokesperson said.
Diversions were put in place for several hours with trains delayed as a scene examination was carried out.
Today, police appealed for witnesses to a vehicle collision on Holland Rd between 3am and 4am on February 19.
“In particular, we would like to speak to a woman who was parked on the roadside and spoke with another witness,” the spokesperson added.
“We believe she may have information that can assist our inquiries.”
