Despite mounting economic pressure on Russia and Ukraine’s ability to strike deep into Russian territory, Dan says Moscow is showing no willingness to negotiate. “We must be prepared for a continuation of this war for at least a year, two,” he said.

With Romania sharing a border with Ukraine, Dan is pushing for US troops to remain in Europe amid an ongoing American review of its military presence on the continent. He also confirmed Romania has received the first tranche of a €2.5 billion EU defence fund, earmarked for military procurement.
