Just last week, we gave you an update on what’s coming up at Meta Connect 2024. And here we are, just moments away from the keynote! Going by year on year trends, it seems like another exciting Quest headset is on the horizon. And so is a whole new bunch of AI and VR trends we can totally look forward to.
Until then, do check out our last week’s blog on the same.
The virtual livestream hasn’t begun yet and we are waiting eagerly for the same.
The livestream music is so calming [random thoughts].
Waiting…
[In the meantime, just read this on Engadget]
Okay, a timer has finally begun!
[In the meantime]
Mixed reality at $299 sounds unconventional but that also means they want to make it mainstream. And this is great!
Future of work is here.
Learning more and more about the Horizon Worlds. Photo-realistic avatars and so much more.
Group workouts. Now this should be fun for the health conscious in VR.
Editing photos in this seems like a breeze.
Natural voice interactions are coming to Meta AI.
“Voice is going to be a way more natural way of interacting with AI.” ~ Mark Zuckerberg
AI studio coming up for creators to create their own version of AI.
Okay, am admitting it…the AI voice assistant conversation freaked me out for a second. But how cool!
Next up, automatic video dubbing. 😎 ~ Meta AI Translation is here! This one just won my heart.
Learn from Meta how to make AI unrealistically real! [the best oxymoron for me today]
Open-source AI: Cost-effective, yes. Trustworthy, hmm!
Glasses as a new AI-centric device category. [Work on this category at Gadget Flow – check!]
Oh, so “look and tell me” is gone from the glasses conversation. All you have to do is speak with Meta as if you’re talking with your neighbor. Welcome AI [unrealistically real, you heard me].
Multi-modal video AI: Consider your all-time fashion guru, fitness guru and what not! No, they are not taking away jobs yet. [freaking out in the background]
Be My Eyes: Do a call through your Glasses and the Volunteer will be able to explain to you about what you’re seeing. A great initiative for the visually impaired.
By the way, here’s a quick update. The full range of EssilorLuxottica transition lenses will work with Ray-BV now.
Fully holographic AR glasses. 😮 A fully functional prototype is here.
They are glasses. Not a headset. Less than a 100gms.
Multiple monitors for working.
Okay, so now we don’t even need VR headset in the future. We just need…glasses!
Anyone wants to play holographic ping-pong here? 🌟
Finally, holograms put to good use. This doesn’t look weird like the hologram projectors I’ve seen so far. Interesting!
How do you interact with this? Voice interaction and hands plus…[drumrolls] a neural interface!
And now we are seeing reactions when people used this prototype! It’s bound to blow your mind.
Things they are working on: Display system and also the design – making it more fashionable + affordable. Bring it on, Meta!
Trust me, this can be a game changer. At least, I know what to switch my VR headset with. I know it’s holograms but still…I am very impressed with this. What about you?
And…seems like that’s about it! But this is way too much AI to consume. So, yes, we are happy here and totally looking forward to the next-gen of computing platforms.
The future is surely more about human connections…virtually! [sounds weird but relatable, too.]
