Microduck is a 25 cm biped robot built for developers who want to train physical movement instead of just conversation. It walks, sits, crouches, recovers from falls, and even roller-skates.
- 15 motors and full sensing: A camera, a depth sensor, and two IMUs let the robot sense its surroundings and adjust its steps, so it can react to the real world instead of following a fixed script.
- Falls and gets back up: Because Microduck weighs less than 800 g, a failed move just means a small robot on the floor. It recovers from common falls on its own, so you do not reset it by hand.
- Grabs and carries objects: Its articulated beak closes around an object as the body lowers, letting it pick things up and move them.
- Ready to use, open to build on: It ships with learned behaviors you can trigger with a gamepad, and its open-source software covers control, simulation, and sim-to-real training for deeper projects.
