Oh, the Eurovision. One would say it’s a celebration of music that unites all of Europe. And, for some reason, Australia too.

But your daily reporter has a different take. To him, it is all about the game of Bingo that you play every May with your loved ones.

And as at Euronews we are one big family, so why don’t we cast some bets?

The 2026 edition of Eurovision is facing a historic meltdown, with some countries threatening to boycott the party.

Why, you ask? There are two reasons. Allegations of Israel topping last year’s public vote by gerrymandering are one. Another? The Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, which Spain argues crosses a red line.

Here is the grid: if Israel is not excluded, Spain, Slovenia, Ireland and the Netherlands are out.

But if Israel is excluded, reports say Germany and Austria would be out instead.

As for our friends from Australia — in this context, easily confused with the host country — they have not commented yet this conflict. Sounds a bit complex?

The voting happens on Thursday and Friday in Geneva where Eurovision bosses will decide new rules to solve the crisis.

So go on, take your bingo card and guess who will be singing this year.
