The latest global passport power rankings have been revealed – and New Zealand has moved up the list.
With 190 destinations available to Kiwis visa-free, Aotearoa ranks fourth-equal compared to other countries around the world in the 2024 Henley Passport Index.
New Zealand, Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland and the United Kingdom all shared that spot.
This year, Singapore is the passport ranked first in the world. It has 195 destinations available visa-free.
Second place had a total of 192 destinations available to France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Spain.
Austria, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, South Korea and Sweden all ranked third with 191 destinations available.
NZ was previously ranked joint sixth.
This year Afghanistan is at the bottom of this year’s list – it has visa-free access to 26 destinations.
The index uses data from the International Air Transport Association, covering 199 passports and 227 destinations.
