One person has been left with serious injuries after a jet boat crash on the Ōreti River at Mavora in Southland.
Police told 1News four people were in the boat at the time of the crash.
Outside of the person seriously injured, Hato Hone St John said another patient had been left with moderate injuries, and two others were believed to be uninjured.
St John confirmed the patient with serious injuries is being transported to Dunedin Hospital, while patient with moderate injuries is being transported to Invercargill hospital, both by helicopter.
Police said emergency services were alerted to the incident at 4.20pm.
“One person reportedly suffered a leg injury, and one person a minor head injury,” it said.
