Police have charged a third person with the murder of a man who died in hospital after he was found injured on the side of a Waikato road following an alleged assault.
Police also named the man as Darshak Narran, 43, from South Auckland.
Narran was found critically injured early on Monday morning last week on Hampton Downs Rd in the vicinity of the racetrack near Whangamarino.
He never regained consciousness and died at Auckland City Hospital on Thursday.
A 23-year-old Papakura man will appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow.
Two men, aged 32 and 42, were earlier arrested and charged with Narran’s murder.
They have been remanded in custody and will next appear in the High Court at Hamilton on November 5.
The investigation remains ongoing, and “police are not ruling out further arrests in relation to the assault on Darshak”.
“Police are again asking anyone who was travelling on Hampton Downs Road between 10pm on Sunday 13 October and 1am on 14 October to make contact, particularly if you have dashcam footage,” a spokesperson said.
Police are urging anyone with information to all 105 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
