Police say there is growing concern for the welfare of a Porirua man as time passes since he was reported missing on Sunday.
Graham Russell Smith, 77, was last seen on November 10 in the vicinity of the Doctor Track on the Colonial Knob walkway. He was reported missing at around 6.30pm the following day.
Police said ongoing searches will utilise the efforts of police search and rescue and land search and rescue volunteers.
The Police National Dive Squad searched reservoirs in the reserve on Wednesday and Thursday, while Fire and Emergency assisted police by using a drone with thermal capability.
A CCTV image of Smith captured on Sunday was released by police yesterday in the hopes it may “help jog the public’s memory”.
It shows him in the same clothing he was wearing when he went missing — a blue puffer jacket and brown corduroy pants.
Information from the public is being assessed as it comes in to determine if it will assist in locating Graham, the spokesperson said.
“Graham’s family is being kept updated and is being offered support.”
Anyone who has seen Graham should contact police on 111 and residents in nearby suburbs are asked to check their properties.
