A 3.9 magnitude earthquake rattled Wellington early this morning.
The quake, described by GeoNet as “moderate”, struck at a depth of 14km and was about 10km east of Lower Hutt.
GeoNet’s website said a total of 8829 people had felt the shaking.
“Now THAT was a wobble,” one person wrote on X.
“Two jolts. Wasn’t the coffee. Great way to wake up,” another said.
