Police are speaking with a “person of interest” after two older people were assaulted and a bag taken from outside a Hobsonville supermarket last week.
Police this morning appealed for assistance from the public in identifying a man captured in surveillance images following a serious assault and robbery outside an Auckland supermarket last week.
Police received a report of a person stealing a bag and assaulting two elderly people in front of Woolworths Hobsonville at around 9am last Wednesday.
“One victim suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital,” a police spokesperson said.
Police released a photo of the man they believed might be able to assist with inquiries.
Within a few hours, Waitematā Police said they were speaking with a “person of interest”.
“We thank the community for sharing our appeal today,” a social media post said.
Meanwhile, police were also appealing for information to help identify a man in relation to an assault at Auckland’s Panmure Interchange earlier this year.
The incident occurred between 9.30pm and 11pm on June 6.
“If you have seen this man or have any information that may assist in identifying him please contact police on 105,” the spokesperson said.
