Foodstuffs Own Brands Ltd have recalled two batches of its 3kg Gilmours brand Chopped Peanuts. The batches recalled were marked as best before 24/04/2025 and 05/06/2026. The affected product is sold at Gilmours and Trents Wholesale stores throughout New Zealand.Scalzo Food Industries have recalled a specific batch of FreshLife brand Chopped Peanuts. Police and whānau are concerned for the welfare of a man missing from an Auckland care facility for nearly two weeks.Walter Brown went home to see family in Papatoetoe on the weekend of September 20 but failed to return to the facility in Papakura.The 56-year-old was reported missing on September 22. “Both police and Walter’s family are concerned for his wellbeing, and we ask anyone who sees him to contact 111,” police said.Brown is known to frequent train stations, particularly in Papakura and central Auckland.He’s also known to go to Karangahape Rd in central Auckland in the past.Anyone who may…

A chemical spill has forced the closure of a key on-ramp in Pōkeno this afternoon following a crash involving a track.Emergency services responded to the two-vehicle crash on the Great South Rd northbound on-ramp at around 5.20pm.While police said no injuries were reported, the spill would require a full cleanup before the road could reopen.Fire and Emergency responded with five trucks from Pōkeno, Tuakau, Papatoetoe, Ōtara, Papakura.Motorists were advised to expect delays.
