The New Zealand Defence Force’s bomb disposal team were called to a suburb on Auckland’s North Shore this evening after two canisters of “phosphorus” were reportedly found. Police were called to Beach Rd in Murrays Bay at around 5.25pm following the discovery. “Police assessed the items and advised the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team from NZDF,” a spokesperson said. An NZDF spokesperson said that on arrival, the EOD team inspected and destroyed two marine marker flares. Two people who died following a crash between a truck and a bus which wasn’t carrying passengers near Marton last month have been named by police.They were 65-year-old Peter John Neilson from Howick and 53-year-old Sahim Ali from Palmerston North.Emergency services were called to a rail bridge between Wings and Calico lines on State Highway 1 on the morning of Tuesday, October 15.Police said the two-vehicle crash which has blocked State Highway 1 was reported at around 8.50am.
