Award-winning alternative rock band Deftones have announced they’ll play a one-off show in Auckland next year.
The band announced today they would play at Auckland’s Spark Arena on May 13.
Deftones was formed by a group of friends in Sacramento, California in 1988, and have since sold more than 10 million records and garnered 10 billion-plus streams globally.
Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, and Frank Delgado have since gone on to win multiple awards over the past three decades, including Grammys for Best Metal Performance in 2001 and Best Remixed Recording in 2022.
Described as having “one of alternative rocks most dedicated followings”, Deftones boasted 17,134,832 monthly listeners on Spotify.
The show would include special guests Interpol & Ecca Vandal.
Tickets would go on sale November 21.
They were due to play in Auckland in March 2020, but the show was cancelled due to Covid.
