A child has died following a “water-related incident” at a playground in Lower Hutt this evening.
Emergency services were called to Avalon Park around 8.10pm after an unresponsive child was pulled from a body of water.
“CPR was undertaken but sadly, the child could not be resuscitated,” police said.
The death will be referred to the coroner.
