Cloudy periods and showers are on the cards for much of the country for Anzac Day this year, MetService forecasts.
Heading into Thursday, the forecaster said much of the country should expect wetter weather. Several watches and warnings are in place.
It will be a chilly start for Canterbury with temperatures of 5C while Wellington is about 14C, and Auckland is facing a 10C start to the public holiday.
Throughout the day, the wet weather is expected to move up north hitting Taranaki. Northland and Auckland will be mostly fine but can expect cloudy periods and wind.
