Jorge Liboreiro reports from Kyiv on Ursula von der Leyen’s visit to Ukraine, while Angela Skujins speaks exclusively to EU Defence Commissioner Andrius Kubilius about Europe’s military support for Kyiv and the bloc’s growing defence partnership with Ukraine.

German MEP Niclas Herbst discusses the sharp rise in conscientious objection applications as Europe debates rearmament, while Simeon de Brouwer from the European Digital Rights Network (EDRi) explains why the EU’s “Chat Control” legislation has sparked such fierce debate over privacy and child protection.

On the sporting front, Argentina came from behind to beat England 2-1 in a tense World Cup semi-final marked by a heated atmosphere from the start, with both sets of fans loudly booing the rival national anthem. The victory sends Lionel Messi and Argentina through to Sunday’s final against Spain.
