A “fully involved” blaze at an industrial building in Ōtaki has been extinguished, Fire and Emergency NZ said.
At the height of the fire, FENZ told 1News six crews, one command unit and four support vehicles were in attendance.
The fire was reported shortly after 6am and was “fully involved on arrival”.
In an update, FENZ confirmed the fire was extinguished and crews were dampening hotspots.
It said there was no risk to surrounding buildings, and no risk of dangerous gases to surrounding areas.
This comes less than a week after a “suspicious” vegetation fire at Ōtaki Beach required 60 firefighters.
At the time, police said they were making enquiries and that two 17-year-old males were referred to Youth Services.
