Four people have been arrested and a significant amount of drugs seized following the execution of four search warrants in Christchurch this week.
Detective Sergeant Ian McKinnon said the operations — named Scissor, Razor and Snip — were an inter-district initiative between West Coast and Canterbury police.
It targeted the sale and supply line of MDMA in the West Coast region.
MDMA, ketamine, LSD, cocaine, cannabis and steroids were among the drugs seized, with the street value of the MDMA and ketamine estimated at around $70,000.
McKinnon said around $100,000 in cash and nine electronic devices were confiscated as well.
“The Asset Recovery Unit is working to restrain further assets in relation to this case.
“Police are committed to cutting off the harm that these drugs cause in local communities by identifying and targeting those who manufacture and supply drugs such as MDMA and LSD.”
Four men aged between 23 and 28 have been charged in relation to drug offences.
All were due to reappear in the Christchurch District Court between June 5 and 7.
Police were still seeking a fifth person and said further charges were likely.
