FC Barcelona footballer Pablo Páez Gavira, better known as Gavi, is reported to have allocated 1.3 million euros to a housing project for people who are homeless or in vulnerable situations in Los Palacios y Villafranca, the town in Seville where he was born and raised.

According to Spanish media, the initiative involves the construction of 150 apartments with capacity for around 300 people. The aim is to provide stable accommodation for local residents who are facing difficulties in accessing housing.

The project represents a particularly significant investment for the midfielder because of his close ties to Los Palacios y Villafranca, a municipality he left at a very young age to continue his football training and where he remains a much-loved figure.

A project for around 300 people

The 1.3 million euros would come from the player himself, according to the newspaper “La Razón”, and would be used to build a complex of 150 double-occupancy homes. It would not, therefore, be a conventional property investment designed to generate profit, but a social initiative.

For the moment, few details are known about how the project will be developed, its timeline or the specific conditions for accessing the homes. The reports published so far, however, agree in indicating an investment of 1.3 million euros and the creation of 150 apartments with space for around 300 people.
