The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed again, its developer announced today.
The video game’s May 2026 release has now been pushed back to November 19, 2026. When it was first announced, it was slated for a 2025 release.
In a post to its website, Rockstar Games said: “We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realise has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.
“We want to thank you again for your patience and support. While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern-day Vice City.”
It means the time between the hugely popular GTA V and its sequel will be more than 13 years.
It’s also the longest gap between games for the publisher – more than eight years between GTA VI and the critically acclaimed western Red Dead Redemption 2.
