Lotto has announced it’s ending one of its ticket buying services, with changes coming into effect tomorrow morning.
Its Text to Play service, that let customers get Powerball jackpot reminders sent to their phone which they could reply to and buy a ticket, is ending on June 16.
“Our Text to Play service is ending on the 16th of June 2024, which means you’ll no longer be able to play our games via text,” Lotto said in a statement on its website.
“Luckily, there are heaps of other ways to buy a ticket, like setting up a subscription, or playing on the MyLotto App, and now’s the perfect time to start looking at different options.”
Lotto said the service is ending because fewer people are using it.
The service first began in 2016.
Those with a Text to Play subscription will not have to do anything, as any outstanding subscriptions will end on Sunday, Lotto said.
