All of Lotto’s counters, as well as the MyLotto app and website, will be going offline later this weekend for a “major” tech upgrade.
Lotto said the services would be closed from 7pm on Sunday until late afternoon on Monday next week (Sep 29).
It means that Lotto counters will be closed, and MyLotto users won’t be able to access their accounts.
Instant Kiwi online will be unavailable from 6pm on Sunday. Keno and Bullseye draws will run on Monday, but results won’t be published later in the day. Tickets for Keno or Bullseye games must be purchased before the counters close.
The closure is necessary so that Lotto can facilitate a technology upgrade, encompassing the lottery’s core technology platform and in-store point-of-sale equipment.
“This weekend is the culmination of an incredible amount of work by our team over the past two years,” Lotto NZ chief executive Jason Delamore said.
“Now we’re into the home straight. From Sunday evening, we’ll be working around the clock to ensure the transition goes smoothly and to get us back online as soon as possible on Monday afternoon.”
Under the new in-store changes, a single ticket will be printed when Lotto, Powerball and Strike are bought together, meaning triple dips will be on a single ticket.
There would be a screen allowing customers to see what they’re buying and an easier way to scan tickets, coupons and MyLotto favourites.
Spend limits would change to a seven-day rolling limit of up to $150 across all games. The lowest limit customers had set would become the default.
Any decrease to limits would take effect immediately, while any increase would activate after 24 hours.
