A man is facing a range of charges — including threatening to kill — following an incident in Christchurch’s Addington yesterday afternoon.
Armed officers responded to a “family harm matter” in which a person was reported to have a firearm on Whiteleigh Ave shortly after 2pm.
A nearby school, Addington Te Kura Taumatua, went into a precautionary lockdown while 10 to 15 police patrol cars, an ambulance, and the armed offenders squad dealt with the incident.
Police are seeking a person of interest following an incident in Addington which saw one person injured.
Police confirmed a 24-year-old male was arrested without incident on Domain Terrace this morning.
“He is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court today charged with a range of charges including threatens to kill and presenting a firearm.”
Police thanked the community for their patience while officers worked to locate the man.
