A 32-year-old man has been taken into custody following a standoff with armed police on Auckland’s North Shore yesterday.
In a statement, police said a man being sought was found at an address in Mulroy Pl, in Pinehill around 4pm yesterday.
“Police attempted to engage with the person, but they refused to cooperate,” a police spokesperson said.
“After prolonged efforts to engage with the person, police including Armed Offenders Squad entered the residence and at 9.30pm the person was taken into custody.”
The 32-year-old man was due to appear in North Shore District Court today facing charges including assault and escaping police custody.
