Police are investigating after a man was hit and killed by a vehicle on State Highway 6 near Queenstown last night.
Emergency services were called to the scene near Kawarau Bridge Historic Reserve on State Highway 6 at around 10pm.
“Sadly, the man was located deceased at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
“Work is now underway to understand what has occurred, as well as to formally identify the victim.”
Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, as well as anyone who may have seen a man wearing black pants and a black shirt walking on State Highway 6 near the area before 10pm.
They also want to hear from anyone who may have captured dashcam footage from the incident or surrounding times.
