A young man received “critical, life threatening injuries” after being allegedly assaulted by several people at a home in the Hamilton suburb of Fairview Downs last night.
Police received a report of a “serious incident” that occurred on Northolt Rd at around 9.25pm on Monday.
“A young man, who was attacked at a residential address by several people, has received critical, life-threatening injuries during the incident,” a police spokesperson said.
“He is currently undergoing surgery and remains in a serious condition.”
There would be an increased police presence as inquiries and scene examinations were completed, police said.
“Hamilton Police are currently following strong lines of inquiry to locate the persons responsible.”
