Police are investigating after a man was found dead on a New Plymouth beach this morning.
The man was discovered on Fitzroy Beach’s shoreline at around 6.50am.
Police thanked members of the public who provided information that helped identify the man.
“We send our condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time. Police are providing ongoing support,” a police spokesperson said.
“Residents around Fitzroy Beach may notice an increased police presence, while inquiries continue.”
