Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’s new cookery show has been billed as an “inspiring” take on the “genre of lifestyle programming”.
After months of speculation about her new career move – and following her first Instagram post in years on New Year’s Day – the 43-year-old announced online that she is fronting a Netflix series called With Love, Meghan.
A show description from Netflix has also stated: “This inspiring series, produced by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming, blending practical how-to’s and candid conversation with friends, new and old.
“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlights how easy it can be to create beauty, even in the unexpected.
“She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same.
“Guests include Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters, with additional acclaimed chefs and special friends.”
Another post on Netflix’s site added: “For Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, love is in the details: the small, personal moments that bring delight to those we cherish.”
In With Love, Meghan, the duchess is joined in the kitchen, garden – and even at the beehive – as she prepares to host friends both old and new.
“Sharing some of her favourite tips and tricks for cooking, gardening, crafting, and more, Meghan reveals how even the most minute details can help add beauty to our lives and, most importantly, help bring people together.
“Whether it’s preparing take-home gifts for guests or adding a sprinkle of edible flowers to breakfast, it’s truly the thought that counts.”
The series is reportedly being made to complement Markle’s lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard – but there has been few updates on the business after it hit setbacks including officials pointing out the wording of her company is a common nickname for Santa Barbara in California.
The cookery show will launch on January 15 and there will be eight 33-minute episodes featuring a host of Markle’s Hollywood friends trying her dishes.
A two-minute trailer released on her Instagram showed her cooking with celebrity friends, walking through vegetable patches and fields, browsing through florists, and collecting honey from beehives.
