One person has been taken to Waikato Hospital in serious condition and police are investigating following an assault in Hamilton.
Police were called to the scene on Waimarie St in the suburb of Nawton just before 1pm on Monday.
St John responded at 12.39pm with an ambulance and a rapid response unit, with an operations manager also attending.
A police spokesperson said the public may see an increased police presence in the area as officers made enquiries to identify and locate those believed to be responsible.
