A person has died after their vehicle crashed on a Balclutha road late last night.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash on Gormack St at about 10.35pm. The driver, who was the sole occupant, died at the scene.
Police have closed a stretch of road between Moir St and Barnego Rd while the serious crash unit investigates the circumstances of the fatal crash.
The road is expected to remain closed until mid-to-late this afternoon, according to police. An ambulance responded to the incident last night, St John said.
Police say inquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
