One person is in critical condition after a house fire in Manurewa this afternoon.
Another two were also injured, one person seriously and the other moderately.,
Fire and Emergency New Zealand said crews received multiple calls around 1.30pm to respond to the house fire.
Two fire engines and one ladder truck were sent to the scene.
The fire was in the kitchen of a 20m x 10m two storey apartment. Crews extinguished the fire, and the three injured people were sent to hospital. A fire investigator was still on the scene.
St John sent two ambulances, two rapid response units, and one manager to the scene.
“Our crews assessed and treated three patients; one in critical condition; one in serious condition, and one in a moderate condition who were all transported to Middlemore Hospital.”
Police said they were notified of the incident at 3.40pm and were at the scene to manage traffic.
“The fire is not thought to be suspicious,” police said.
