A person has been critically injured following a crash involving a car and bus in Tauranga this evening.
Emergency services are responding to the incident after police were alerted to the crash around 6.15pm.
The collision occurred on Welcome Bay Rd between Waitao Rd and Water Ln in Waitao.
“One occupant of the car is in a critical condition,” police said.
“The occupants of the bus were not seriously injured.”
The serious crash unit has been notified.
Welcome Bay Rd is expected to be closed “for some time”, police said.
Diversions are in place between Kairua Rd and Water Ln.
