An investigation is underway following the death of a three-month-old girl in Masterton last week.
Police were notified of the incident at around 2pm on Thursday October 2.
“Officers are now working to determine what exactly has occurred,” Senior Sergeant Philip Skoglund said.
“The family are assisting the investigation team with our inquiries, and we are not seeking anyone else at this time.”
Police were awaiting the formal report from the pathologist after the postmortem was completed.
