A second person has been charged in relation to the death of a Kaikohe toddler last month.
A homicide investigation was launched after Cattleya Tangimetua-Pepene was found unresponsive at her home on May 21.
The three-year-old died at the scene.
Detective Senior Sergeant Christan Fouhy today said police have made a second arrest in relation to the three-year-old’s death.
A 31-year-old woman appeared in the Kaikohe District Court today charged with neglect and fraud-related offences.
The woman has been remanded in custody to reappear on July 15.
A 45-year-old man appeared in court last month charged with her murder.
