Three teens, two of them aged 14, have been arrested after two luxury vehicles were allegedly stolen in Auckland.
The vehicles, alongside other personal items, were allegedly stolen from a Mount Wellington property overnight, police said.
Auckland City East Area Prevention Manager Inspector Rachel Dolheguy said police spotted both vehicles travelling together in Glen Innes just before 1.30am this morning.
“A number of police resources were deployed safely to the area in order to apprehend these three offenders,” Dolheguy said.
Both vehicles have since been recovered.
Dolheguy said police “refuse to tolerate offending of this nature”.
“Incidents like this are not only a concern for the public but also for police in that these offenders are putting the wider community at risk when they flee from police.”
Two of the alleged offenders are aged 14, while the other is 17.
“Police are now considering charges for the 17-year-old and have referred the two 14-year-old’s to Youth Aid.”
