” Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko has just reported that the attacker in Kyiv who opened fire on civilians has been eliminated”, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on X.

” All the circumstances are being established. At present, 5 people have been confirmed killed. My condolences to the families and loved ones. Ten people are currently hospitalized with injuries and trauma. All are receiving the necessary assistance. Four hostages have been rescued”, the President said.

The Ukrainian Prosecutor General announced that the shooter was a 58-year-old native of Moscow. Ukrainian media reported that he had obtained Ukrainian citizenship and had previously lived in Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, before later moving to Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district.
